Media Browser changes location

Ever since I upgraded to High Sierra, the location thats shows in my media browser section changes.  It is defaulting to a folder called 'Audio,".  Each time I record a new audio file, I have to manually navigate back to "desktop," "audio," where the file was recorded to.
