Metallic sound

Let me preface by saying I am very much a newbie to both the recording and editing.  I recorded an interview with my Tascam Dr-40 into MP3 format.  If I listen to the raw MP3 data, the recording is low volume but fine otherwise.  The recording volume was a misstep on my part.  When I upload it to Adobe Audition, on Waveform, as is without adjusting the volume, it again sounds low volume but fine.  When I flip it over to the Multitrack, it is louder and has this high pitch metallic-ish sound throughout.  Turning up the volume back in Waveform I can hear it as well but is there anyway to get rid of it?  What am I looking for as I zoom into the recording as to what that sound is?

You need to read and apply what it says in this FAQ: I'm getting strange feedback and monitoring issues with the Audition 2018 release - can I fix this?
