Mirror Full Screen Video to TV

I am trying to mirror my video in Audition to an external television monitor so that others will be able to view video only while I control Audition. I have been able to successfully use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable to see my laptop screen on the tv monitor, but how do I get the TV monitor to display full screen video only? Audition has grayed out View > Video Display > Mirror Full Screen, and I am unable to click it. Should I be using a different cord?

There are usually different modes of your laptop's video display drivers to either Duplicate displays, Extend display and/or Show Desktop on Monitor 1 or 2. Which mode do you have your laptop set to? I suspect that for Audition's Video Display to work you have to use the Extend mode (but I could be wrong).

Edit. Just checked and, yes, your laptop's dual display mode has to be set to Extend.

    This worked! My display was set to Duplicate, but when I changed it to Extend, I was able to see full screen video on the TV, while having control of the audio in Audition on my laptop.
