Question

Missing "APPLY" button for FFT Filter

Hi Everyone,

I am BRAND new to Audition. I have a an audio file with some plosives in it. I checked Youtube on how to remove these. It showed using the FFT Filter. All of that makes sense, but, there is no way to apply the filter to my selection. Am I doing something wrong, or has Audition changed the way features work?

I have included a screenshot of what I am experiencing.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Matt

You're doing several things wrong, I'm afraid. For a start this is Multitrack, where effects don't directly affect the file in the track - they are playback effects only. Secondly, you are using Track effects, so whatever you've put in them will apply to the whole track, regardless of what you've selected. Audition hasn't changed the way the features work, but I don't think you've quite understood what that is. I'd suggest working through a few of the basic tutorials, and you'll get a better idea.

The immediate solution to your issue is to turn that selection into a clip by splitting it, and then applying a clip effect to it. When it plays back, the effect you've chosen will apply automatically - you don't need to action anything else; there is no 'apply' button in Multitrack.
