Mixdown session to new file - bad quality

Question

When using the menu mix down session to new file i get a bad result. The quality of the sound is simply bad.

When using export mixdown the problem does not occur.

I have used mix down many times before without problems. I am editing on MAC 10.12.4.

I hope someone can help!

It would probably be worthwhile if you could post a sample of your "bad result" so we can hear what the effect is.

However, as a start, the main difference between File/Export/Multitrack Mixdown and Multitrack/Mix down to new track is that the Export command gives you a settings menu where you can check/set the parameters of the mixdown. The Mix down to new track just goes ahead and uses the setting from when you created the session. Could you have accidentally created a session with a low sample rate or something?
