Mp4 Video no playing in Audition

I'm able to hear the audio, but there is no video in the "Video" window. This worked a week ago...

Works fine here on the current release - which version are you using? The other thing is that not all MP4 files are equal - there are some that definitely won't play anyway because the decoder doesn't recognise the format of the encoder they were made with.

I'm not able to discern "the format of the encoder they were made with", but it did come from an ad agency in Germany, so maybe that's the isse. Would be nice if it wasn't an issue.

If you want to discover which codecs were used to create the file, download and install the free MediaInfo utility https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo and point it at your video

With the information from the Text view of the app you should discover exactly which codecs are involved. Then, the problem will be: how to possibly convert the video to use a codec that AA can use!
