Question

Multitrack Causing Audition to Crash when Hitting Record

I've been dealing with this issue for a while now and have yet to find a fix.

I'm using a MacBook (mid 2015, 16 gb memory,

ntel Iris Pro 1536 MBI) to run Audition, an mxl990 mic to record, and a scarlet solo 2nd gen as the audio interface. Every time I make a multi-track session and arm any track to record the program will crash if I hit either the record button or spacebar. I've set inputs and outputs to the scarlet, I've looked at my multitrack settings, and I've made sure the sample rates are the same everywhere.

The program just disappears and I'm stuck looking at my desktop screen. On a few occasions (like 2-3 times) I can start recording but the moment I stop it the program crashes. I've used a USB mic to record into Audition with no trouble so I'm not sure if the problem lies in the program or my audio interface, but I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere.

Audition is the main reason I'm subscribed and it's become increasingly frustrating that I can't use it with the gear I currently have set up.

You need to do what it says here: Audition crashed - now what?

So you can submit the same question that is posted here and still not be able to get any work done.  That's not a helpful answer.  It's not 2021 and I'm having the same exact problem. I guess no solutins was found?

Actually, it's the only possible answer - where else is the information coming from? The only thing I can add to it is that if you post the log file text in the thread, and it's anything obvious then we might be able to spot it. But by and large if it's a Mac then the devs have to look at it, because most of us use PCs. Oh, and last time I checked it was definitely 2021.
