Music clip lagging

I have just edited a podcast in Audition CC 2020. When I play it back, a short music clip in the session is lagging/ drags. The issue still exists when I export and play back the session as a WAV file. Don’t know why this is and have no idea how to resolve. Any suggestions, please? Thanks.
