Thank you very much for your prompt reply to my query Steve, I appreciate it.

I've created another Session with only mono tracks and the result is

the same. I also Linked each channel pair in the mixer and panned

channel 5 left and channel 6 right, but that made no difference

either, i.e. all 4 toms record on both channels 5 and 6, which is not

such a bad thing really, not hard to cope with that. I've made a

test recording but I haven't yet copied the separate tracks out to my

desktop computer for analysis. Incidentally, I presume the best way

to do that is to create a mixdown of each channel individually?

Also, I note the letters L.R, C, LFE, LS etc. beside the tracks in

Audio Channel Mapping, are they relevant to my recording? Are they

fixed?

I appreciate you going to the trouble of checking the TD30 Manual

Steve, and I note what you say, there may be a way for me to assign

which pads go to which output. I'll look into that.
