my usb mic doesn't work on the multitrack editor

hello, I just got the shure mv88+ and set it up and it works pretty great on the waveform editor however I tried to use it on the multitrack editor but it's not working.

Things you need in order to be able to record in Multitrack: The mic has to be assigned to the track you are working on, the red 'R' button has to be lit, and you then have to press the 'Record' button on the transport. If your mic works fine in Waveform, it's almost certainly one of these three things that isn't in place.
