Need help with settings for IVR recording

I have a voice over client that requires a u-law file for use on their phone system and the files that I have recorded will not work with their platform. I have tried recording a typical wav file and converting to u-law and recording a file with the lower sample and bit rate required for the u-law and neither one works. I think I must have a setting issue and I could use some advice.

My understanding of this is that you need to find out from your client the exact u-law format specifications that his phone system requires.

We have done that without success. A colleague has done work for them previously and we're using the exact same settings unless I'm missing something deeper in the software.
