Question

No audio output in Audition

In Adobe Audition 2026, two microphones are plugged into separate inputs on an M-TRACK DUO with two audio tracks on separate channels, output via USB to Audition.  The tracks show up on the editor and volume meters, but I cannot hear the audio  through the headphone jack on the M-AUDIO or on the Mac Studio.  All levels have been set correctly, and Audio mapping and hardware settings are correct (see screengrab).  This configuration has worked fine in recording sessions and playback, but suddenly does not.  On a deadline;  PLEASE HELP!!

Thanks VERY much.

The only anomaly that I can see in this arrangement is that your USB audio device’s sample rate is set to 44.1k whilst everything else is set to 48k. Since the stream being sent back is presumably 48k, I suppose it’s possible that the monitoring in the USB device doesn’t like that… but it’s a Mac so this is only a guess.

Nice catch, however:

I just tried mis-matching the sample rates on my setup. (Mac M2 Studio, OS 26.5) and the playback was not disrupted in my brief test.

I’m not seeing what’s wrong in your settings.

Just to be clear...no sound when output to the Studio speakers either?

Sound working in other apps?

Problem persists after a restart?

Problem persists after toggling to another output and back?
