Noise within vocals

I used Adobe yesterday to record an audition with no issues. Today when I recorded, I noticed 

a great deal of noise inside the vocal file?

I powered my system down and back up as sometimes this clears issues. Same noise again. 
I switched to another DAW (Twisted Wave). No noise there. Clear vocals. Therefore not my mic or interface. 
I uninstalled and reinstalled Audition. Problem with noise still exist? 
 I'm using Audition 2020. My Apple MacBook is not compatible with the latest update  but it worked great without the update before? 
Help! 

I chatted with support this am but found them to be less than helpful. For example, even after explaining that it worked fine with Twisted Wave they asked if I could try another Mic??
