Non musical files

Hi all,

I recorded a 20 song compilation with Audtion and when the compilation was burnt I loaded the CD-R into my PC to play and all I had was 20 files of non music files. Each one sounded different but there wasn’t any music to be found. The knock on effect of this has caused the 20 songs on my hard drive to sound completely the same as the CD-R. Can I get the 20 songs on my hard drive sounding back to normal. Please find attached one of the 20 songs.

Rag and Bone is correct - we really need to know exactly how you recorded these songs, and what format you saved them in, for a start…

But the direct answer to your question is that if this is what happens when you open the files on your HD and that’s what they look like, then no, nothing is going to be recoverable. And we need to find out, because otherwise the same thing is likely to happen if you repeat the process.

What was the original source? How did you record then songs? How were they input? It looks like the recording level was much too high, as if a line level source was fed to a mic level input.
