not able to give my own pause in text to Speech

Question

adobe audition will input text and gives out speech, but i need some pause  for 5 seconds or my own timing, is there any program language for this to give pause in between for speech

As far as Text to Speech in Audition goes it is fairly primitive. So you would have to edit the speech audio afterwards to add gaps if you need them in Audition. But I suspect that there is much more out there on the net about using the various Text to Speech apps with instructions on how to produce more complex output. But not within Audition I'm afraid.
