Now getting yellow warning triangle message "this clip may have shifted"

I'm editing a two-hour long dialog file in Audition CC 2018. I've recently been editing a lot of these files. It's been going great. A few minutes ago I notice that this current file I'm working on is displaying yellow warning triangles at the bottom of each clip. They say "warning this clip may have shifted out of sync due to a source media file change." I have no idea what this could mean. The triangles go away as I scroll. They make me nervous. I have recently tried changing the stretch / time / pitch / volume of a small clip selection. I didn't like the result so I undid the change. Hmmm, I did stretch one little portion an hour ago. But I've gone back and undid all changes of the past hour. Triangles are still on every clip. I did record 2 tracks and am only editing one. I save one as a backup, who knows why. I had 2 microphones. I've only been editing one track since I started the editing project weeks ago. The triangles appeared a half hour ago. Ideas? (Hey, it looks like this Adobe Forum is brand new as of yesterday. Is that possible? What about the archives of great info from the years before? When I look up this subject I come up empty. Here and on Google.)

Starting at the end...

Yes it's a new forum, essentially. It's also now a 'flat' format so you won't, for instance, find the FAQs listed separately. Also threads that haven't reached an access 'threshold' have been archived. That doesn't mean that they aren't accessible - it just means that you'd have to have the right search term available. The good news is that the search function is supposed to be considerably improved. Are we used to it yet? No...

The warning triangles thing is, you have to remember, just a warning. What primarily causes it to show is actually editing the source material file in any way that lengthens or shortens it. So if you did something like that, placed a clip from the retimed original, returned the file to its previous state then it would still think that the clip was misplaced - which it might well be, even though the original file hasn't now been touched. Generally the triangle logic is correct, even though it's slightly arcane!

As far as stretching a clip is concerned, that shouldn't cause a problem. On the other hand, knocking a bit off the start of a clip and then replacing it didn't get rid of the warning triangle when I tried it, so hey, I got the warning, even though technically it shouldn't be there. Basically, if you're happy with what you've done, then dismiss the warnings with impunity!

Did you make time and pitch edits in the waveform view?

You usually get these yellow triangles appear if you make an edit (destructively) in waveform view and then head back to multitrack. The clip doesn't move but the contents inside have shifted around hence the warning triangles.

Yes, I tried making some edits in Waveform view. I undid all of them except for one or two where I used the HUD to increase the volume. I quit the program, chose to not-save the file, then restarted and the yellow triangles were gone. Alarming! I would think that only the contents of one or two one-second clips (where I increased volume for a spoken word) were changed. In my opinion any such change should not affect all other clips like it seemed to do. The triangles appeared on everything! My main file didn't sound any different. And the triangles wd disappear as I scrolled past them. It was very alarming. Any impt info re making these kinds of changes as they might affect an entire file would be GREAT to know! As far as i know, i only ever applied a change to one or two small clips. Thx...
