Old Recording problem with New Update

Ok.  Why is this old problem appearing with the new update to Audition.  When you open a "New Waveform" and start recording, the waveform/timeline stretches out to infinity, down to the individual waveform dots, slowing down production and recording?  This was an issue with CC 2016 in the beginning and was fixed.  Now it's back.  This occurs whether it's a "New" waveform, or I open an existing waveform and "start" recording.
