Open Up A Project & Audition Stops Responding

Hey all - I am having an issue with Audition v. 12.1.5. - whenever I open up a saved session, My audition stops responding. I'm running on macOS Catalina that was all updated today. I uninstalled and re-installed Audition. When I start a new file, it doesn't do this, only when I open up a saved session. Anyone have this problem before and have a solve? Although I'm an audio editor, I'm still not the most proficient in computer tech so I'm a bit stumped. Thanks!
