Piercing mic sounds from the transmitter?

I don't know sound, but with Covid I have been thrown onto a steep learning curve for video recording and putting our church sermons online. I have primarily been using Premiere Pro to edit (though I have spent many hours in basic tutorials for learning the program), but I'm willing to jump into Audition if someone has specific instructions (I don't want to spend more hours trying to learn that program as well). We know our lapel mic needs replacing, but we are currently waiting for that to happen. I have spent hours reading and watching tutorials on how to fix the piercing/zapping sounds from the mic, but nothing has been able to help me. I don't even know how to properly describe it! Attaching small clip of the problem. Any help would be SO appreciated!

There's not much in your sample, but what I heard clearly was simply down to poor reception, and the only way you are going to fix that properly is to get the reeiever closer to where your pastor is - that or get a much better receiver. In most places of worship, you generally need a decent diversity receiver to get over that sort of noise, and even then, because of the distances usually involved, you still have to be careful with where you position it. You need good reception over his entire movement area, or he's simply going to crackle out in more remote spots.

But there's no way you can clean that out after the event, I'm afraid - it's not a continuous or even consistent noise, and those are the only ones that can even vaguely be treated.
