PKF Files not being generated for multi-channel wav files

Good afternoon!

 

When opening a multi-channel WAV file (this one happens to be a 32-track 32-bit, 48KHz file) out of my recorder (KlarkTeknik DN32-LIVE), no PKF (peak file) is generated. Therefore every time I open the multi-track project that uses these files, there is a very long load time, as Audition must re-scan all the audio files. Yes, I have all the features enabled to create PKF files. AND the weird part, it only does this with certain multi-channel wav files. I created a 32-track WAV file in Audition, saved it, and it saved a PKF file. I even tried opening up the aforementioned file out of the DN32-LIVE, re-saving it with Audition and still no PKF file was generated.  Is there a way I can submit this file for analysis to see why Audition does not recognize it as a standard multi-track WAV file?  It responds the same way whether this is is an 8, 16, or 32-track file out of the DN32.

Initially I have only one suggestion to make before we take this any further. The DN32-Live outputs its wav files as 32-bit PCM and I'm not sure that you can create .pkf files for that format. My suggestion is (if you haven't already tried it) not just to open the file and try to save it, but alter the save parameters so that it saves as 32-bit Floating Point. It might well create a .pkf file then. Worth a go, anyway...

Yeah, if I open the file and re-save, nothing.  If I open the file and "export," it will generate the pkf file. So, it will do it for that bit depth and resolution, it just won't do it for the original file. I am curious what it is about those specific files.

Do you know if there is a way to submit a file to have the folks at Adobe look at it? Then, I can try to work with Music Group to maybe push a F/W update for the recording card.  I mean, Audition reads the files just fine. Just refuses to make the reference file.
