playback during record and mixdown almost non existant

have  Allen heath mixwizard4 with optional usb card installed.Using Adobe audition in windows 10 laptop I have no playback sound during recording or mixdown etc.Sound setup in laptop and Audition all show mixwiz4usb as setting for "in" and "out" and volumes at 100%.Have been in touch with Allen Heath and received instructions on how to setup mixer...No change.All meters on DAW show content playing at appropriate levels...still no sound...My question obviously is "is there a master volume preset hidden deep inside Audition that I haven't found".

If all the faders on the mixer panel are set at 0dB, then what goes in is what will come out. If this isn't happening, then we are going to need rather more information, and some screen-grabs.
