Playback lag and clicks during recording after Mojave 10.14.5 help?

I've been experiencing playback lag and clicks after a few seconds of playback.

I noticed this after updating macos to Mojave 10.14.5.

Before it was working fine.

Anyone experience this?

I have to say that it's not the first time that a Mac Mojave update has caused significant problems, as a look in our FAQs will reveal. It may well be worth mentioning to Apple that their update has, erm, unwanted side effects...

What are you using as an audio interface with your Mac and Audition? Are the lags and clicks when playing back a simple audio file in Waveform view or when running a session with effects in Multitrack view? If in Multitrack how many tracks and what effects are you using?

I'm using Steinberg UR 242 audio interface.

The lag and clicks happens in multitrack view (I have about 30 tracks).
In the waveform this does not happen.

I'm have a few effects running on the tracks. AU multiband compressor, Parametric EQ, Deesser, Surround reverb.

My previous project (before updating macos) was with the same amount of tracks and effect, but there was no lag.

Anyways, I tried to use bus output for the tracks that that uses the same effects.
Somehow the lag and clicking improved.

Or is this due to something else? If you have anything in mind.
