Playbar or "Playhead" becomes more and more laggy as audio is played

Recently, after opening audition and either recording or playing an audio file. The playhead (and the entire application) will begin to lag an insane amount. Making it almost impossible to monitor anything or record. My computer is pretty beefy (4070S, 7800X3D, 32GB DDR5), and I've tried everything under the sun to try and fix this issue but no dice. I use ASIO audio drivers with my Focusrite Scarlet Solo Gen 4, I made sure that everything was matching between the two. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions to this problem it'd be appretiated a ton!
