PLEASE HELP! Distortion in Audition

Hey everyone! This is my first time posting. I desperatly need y'alls help! I recorded an hour long podcast episode with a Blue Yeti mic straight into the latest updated version of Adobe Audition (v.23.1) using ASIO. The recording is great for the first hour and 50 minutes. Then, suddenly, there is a huge distortion in the audio until the end of the episode. I thought it might be the mic, but I recorded other audio afterwards to experiment with the mic and that recording was just fine. I've attached an audio file to let y'all hear it. Please, please, PLEASE tell me I can fix this distortion some how.

Sounds like a buffer problem - since it was working okay to start with,  it sounds as though you might need to relocate your temp files into a directory of their own rather than in the default one. And if you make a recording in Waveform view that long, you're going to have a potential issue with the size of the temp file anyway; any recording that long should be done in Multitrack view where it goes direct to the final file, rather than via a buffer file.

And now the bad news - there's absolutely no way you can fix distortion like that - or any other distortion, come to that. There is no original reference against which it could be fixed, and this example in particular is even worse - the buffer failure means that there are gaps where there is nothing.
