Hello. I am an experienced Audition 2 user, just upgraded to Audition 3. I have two problems. (1) There is no Effects>Generate>Silence function to ADD silence at the beginning or ending of a track. There is only >Noise, Speech, Tones. What am I missing? (2) The Click/Pop and Single Click/Pop eliminators do not work in either waveform or spectral marquee edit modes. I know the single click/pop function works only for short sample durations, so this is not the problem. Is it possible I am still using the trial software version where these features may be disabled? Help!! Thank you - Andy.

1) It is not under the Effects menu but at the top of the now separate Generate menu.

2) No, if you just upgraded from the downloadable version of AA3 there isn't a trial version. Anyway Audition trials were just time limited not feature limited when there was one. The Click/pop Eliminator effects works OK here on my Win 7 installation. I don't think that it makes any differences but have you also applied the AA 3.01 update to your installation?

I have Build 11.0.1.49. Every Audition purchase link I click on at Adobe's site takes me to Audition CC - not Audition 3.0 or Audition CS6. Even clicking on Audition 3.0 or CS6 takes me to Audition CC. Exasperating! How do I get what you have? Andy.

You have the brand new, very latest version of Audition which was only released in January this year and the only version available these days. And I suspect you are having to pay quite a lot for it now if you have just started a subscription with Adobe to download the CC version. Rather a long way away from AA3 and nothing like it and nine or ten Audition versions later! Hence not being able to find anything where you expected or where I expected you to find it.

Now you get Insert/Silence under the Edit menu. Also the Click/Pop Eliminator is a rather different beast but does work OK.

Hello, again. Thank you for clearing up the mystery. I located the generate (insert) silence feature. But my click/pop eliminator still does not work - neither the auto nor single elim features. Under the old product the defaults worked fine in elim most pops. Under the new software neither the defaults nor various custom settings work, meaning they don't elim obvious pops. Like I said before, I must be using it wrong. Any tips or tricks you have might help. Or maybe a tutorial? Thanks again. Andy.

I purchased my software from Adobe's official website while logged into my Adobe user account. But my screen is different from yours. My software is labeled Adobe Audition CC 2018. CC means Creative Cloud but the software is installed on my computer. My screen also does not have an Editor button but a Waveform button instead. Also, I do not have folder tabs in the right panel. But it appears identical to your screen in other respects.

What am I using and why is it different from your software. Did I buy the wrong Adobe product? Can you give me a link to buy your version? I will cancel yesterday's purchase, but I am certain it is legitimately Adobe.

1) Call me crazy but my top menu items are File - Edit - Multitrack - Clip - Effects - Favorites - View - Window - Help. There is no separate Generate function except under Effects, which lacks a silence function. There is a separate Silence function parallel to Effects but it only erases sound in an already existing timeframe; it does not add silence in a new timeframe.

2) I did not upgrade per se. Rather I have Audition 2.0 on my new computer but have had much trouble finding someone who can give me an activation code to begin using it. I have my license number but need an activation number. This is my preference - to just keep using 2.0 but I have given up trying (can you help?). Otherwise, I'll have to learn how to use 3.0 - it seems very different. Anyway, I purchased 3.0 yesterday. I assumed it "upgraded" the existing 2.0 version but I think it may have separately installed 3.0

It is a big problem for me that the click/pop eliminator doesn't work. The function seems to go through an operational process but it does not modify or affect the sound envelope, no matter how I vary the parameters. I think I am just using it wrong, somehow. If you could point me to a video on how, exactly, to elim a single click/pop, this might solve the problem. I haven't found one among the tutorials.

It seems odd that if you really have v.3 installed that you don't see the Generate menu. If you go to About Audition under the Help menu it should tell what version and build number you actually have installed.

You shouldn't have needed to purchase AA3 since it is available downloadable and free for registered AA2/3 users since they can no longer be activated since Adobe closed the servers several years ago. So I am not sure where your version came from but it doesn't sound very legit I'm afraid.
