Pop Sound Happens every time I record- Is it out of sync in audio set up somehow?

I use this program at work, and at home. At work, it never happens. At home it does. I purchased Adobe Audition CC each month. It works great.

This issue I have works on my laptop PC or my work computer or my Mac...no matter where I use them...at this home or someone elses.

I bought a new microphone and it does the same thing...so it's not the cables or microphone.

I'll be recording and during playback I'll get a quick pop...I HAVE to go back and re record that part again. It sounds just like a quick pop. I don't know how else to explain it.

I have a brand new super fast harddrive. It still does it.

I wondered if maybe I have something set up within the program that is not quite right, and is causing the system to temporarily choke?

Any ideas?

Hello Kevin,

I meant to reply. This seems to have fixed the problem for the most part.

If you are using a Yeti USB mic, make sure that Input and Output are set to

the same:

Input: Yeti Mic: 44100hz 2 ch 16 bit interger

Output: Built In Output: 44100 hz 2 ch 16 bit interger

Master Clock: Built In Output

This seems to have corrected most of my issues. It happens a lot less now.

Every now and then it still happens...I haven't figured out what else it

could be.

Thank you for asking. I hope you'll post this as I've bought two yeti mics

and had the same problem with both of them. I thought maybe at first it was

a short in the cable; electrical, or something wrong with the previous mic,

but not so. Now I have an extra.

How and with what audio interface are you getting your mic into Audition? What is different about the situation at work where the problem doesn't happen?

Can you post a clip of the audio containing a pop in it's original .wav format for us to take a listen to. You will have to use something like Dropbox or Google Drive as this Adobe audio forum doesn't allow audio files to be inserted.

That I don’t know. I didn’t set that up. I’m using a USB port for the mic straight into adobe.. at work everything is thru processors... I can’t imagine that would be why?

When using a USB mic you have to check very carefully that settings for sample rate in both Windows and Audition are set to match what the mic can operate at. Is it the same mic at work and on your laptop?
