Popping and Delay Issues

Having popping and delay issues on 2022 Audition. This was recorded through an interface and microphone. It was an audio file (not multitrack). Previous posts said to deselect smart monitoring on multitrack preferences but it was not selected and I was not recording in multitrack.

Any suggestions would be great. This just started happening today.

Is this on a Mac or a PC? It sounds like a buffering issue - you might want to look at the latency/buffer size setting in Audition's hardware settings page. But because of the repeating, it could also be related to a temp file buffering fault. This can happen when Audition is sharing the temp buffer space with the operating system, which can claim preferential use of the space. Without knowing a lot more about your system, it's hard to be more specific.

Thank you for your quick response. I just reinstalled it and the problem went away (guess I should have done that before posting).

For those with the same issue, I believe you are correct with you assumption of the temp files. I had moved my temp folder from the C: drive to my 😧 drive before I learned about the issue.

The frowny face is the D drive.
