Power outage with unsaved files

I was recording several chapters of an audiobook when I had an unexpected power outage. When I restarted my computer and Audition, it asked if I wanted to restore the last session. All my files show up and indicate that there is data based on the duration of the file but all waveforms are gone.

Am I screwed? If so, just need to know so I can start over.

If you got a greyed-out display with just track markers instead of the actual audio, hopefully all you will probably need to do is physically re-link the audio to each greyed-out track. The good thing about recording in Multitrack view is that your audio is written direct to disk - so that even in the event of a power cut, you should be able to re-open everything up to the point of the cut. In Waveform view, you'd be completely screwed at this point because you'd be relying on a temp file recovery, and that's seriously likely to be a failure.

Well, guess which mode I was working in.

I typically work in Waveform as I'm only dealing with my own voice audio. I've lost an hour of work so it's tragic but not devastating. I did attempt the temp file route and yes, it was disasterous.
At least I know what I know now. And good to know about Multitrack!
