Pre-rendering FX's on bus track?

Hi!

So, very basic situation: I have a couple of voice tracks routed to a bus track. I would like to add some reverb on the bus and use pre-render because I can't get smooth playback without pre-rendering. Seems that pre-rendering is only available on the basic audio tracks and not on bus tracks, am I right? Is it possible to pre-render effects on bus tracks? Or is this a "feature"?

No, you can't pre-render a bus track, and neither is it a practical feature request. The reason is gloriously simple; in order to pre-render any track, it and its effects have to be in a 'locked' state. The implication of this is that anything feeding the bus would also have to be locked, even if you didn't intend or want it to be - this way lies chaos. I think that there may be other technical issues with the idea as well, involving levels and routing, although the main one is the multitple track locking.

Which reverb are you trying to use on the bus? The only one that's likely to work without playback issues is Studio Reverb - it's the least process-intensive one. Have you tried that?
