Preview Playback Device

New to Audition CC 2017.  I've been using Audition since it was "Cool Edit Pro".  I settled on Audition 3 and up till recently it has worked perfectly.   New Daw and I'm ready to try the latest version. (kicking and screaming of course)

  Question: is there any way to preview audio before you load it to the program? 

for example,  in Audition 3 when you highlighted a file it would start playing.  It was called Preview Playback device.  But I don't see that with CC.

    Yes you can but only in the Media Browser panel, not in the Open file pane. But once you have found the file in the Media Browser you can open/import it from there.
