Quality of MP3

Question

I insert the MP3 file as a minus file in Adobe Audition CC 2015. When I want to save the session it says, that some files are out of the session and propose to save a copy. But a saved copy is of much LESS quality as an original MP3! I use 32 bit format for a whole session, 44100 sample rate, but still a big change...

How to preserve the original quality of MP3?

If an MP3 file is opened in a session, and then you save it again as an MP3 then yes, it will be degraded, as it will have been re-encoded to do this. When the file is decoded the first time to a wav file, then you should save this and use it in the session - then it won't degrade. The reason for all of this is that MP3 files are only meant to be used as distribution files, and not for origination, as their compressed format compromises the data significantly.
