QX1202 USB Poor Audio Quality in Audition 2020

Has been a struggle to get Audition to recognize my QX1202 mixer inputs but I had a small breakthrough this morning. For background, the ASIO and MME Hardware options both do not recognize the Mixer inputs. I have two Mics on the mixer and based off reading have panned one to the far left and other far right. After reading some and tinkering, I changed HW preferences to use "WASAPI" device class. Following that, I saw some other community posts that suggested to change mixer inputs such that USB 2TR was set to "To Phones/CTRL RM". By chance I also toggled "To Main Mix" off. Voila am finally getting the inut recognized in Audition. I am probably doing so much of this incorrectly and let me just in advance apologize for my ignorance.

My issue now is the sound quality on playback is very poor. It sounds grainy and there is a bunch of background noise. Any ideas? I have included screenshots and pictures of my overall setup.

According to Behringer you shouldn't be using WASAPI at all - that's completely out of date and may go some way to explaining poor results. Behringer suggest - and it's in their download section - that you use the ASIO4ALL driver. You select ASIO as the driver class in Audition, and then ASIO4ALL below. As for levels - well, nominally set the master fader on the mixer to 0dB (ie maximum) and adjust the mic gain until the level is satisfactory.

Steve, you are a legend and the unsung hero of this forum. I played with it some more and have for sure been able to get the Mixer inputs into the PC as a recording. Thank you!

Do you know if there any setting on Audition that would allow me to hear the playback in real-time on my headphone? Right now I have the Phones cable hooked up to a Headphone Amp. When I am playback within Audition it works fine.

If you are talking about headphones on the mixer, then pressing the USB/2TR button that says 'to phones/control room' and selecting the mixer as the output on the Master section of the Audition mixer will let you hear anything that Audition is playing via that route. Sometimes you have to be careful doing that - you can end up with a delayed feedback loop if the track you are actually recording is being monitored as well. Mostly you can sort these issues out within Audition.
