Question

Random Skipping both in recording and playback

This has been bugging me for almost 2 months, thought it was just a 2022 problem, but this happens with the 2021 version as well.

Basically, whenever I'm working with multitracks, even without any effects, with asio4all drivers to get less latency, at 512 I/O buffer, it skips randomly and it also makes it difficoult to listen to the whole track... If I want to listen to just a piece, I take the playhead and click on the part I want to listen to, 5/10 times, It plays nothing but the playhead is still moving... What gives?

I'd love to know how I can resolve or if this is a known issue at Adobe.

Thank you so much for listening, take care!

The things to check here are whether your audio and video drivers are up to date, initially. But...

ASIO4ALL won't give you lower latency, however you use it, as all it is doing is acting as an interface between Audition's ASIO engine and the Windows driver for whatever your sound device is. You only get low latency ASIO if you are using a sound device with its own ASIO driver - this is the one that cuts out most of the OS, not ASIO4ALL. ASIO4ALL has other advantages, like being able to aggregate devices in some instances and good diagnostics, but if you aren't using these or any other feature in particular, it might be worth trying the MME driver directly, as that would in your case remove a processing stage.
