Recent Folders Drop Down

I just upgraded from 3.0 to the current Adobe Audition.
In 3.0, when you were opening or saving, you could see recent folders that you accessed by clicking on the drop down menu at the top. Now, it only shows the current folder you are in. 
Is there anything that can be done so that recent folders show up in the drop down?

Have you looked at File>Open Recent?  This shows all recently opened folders.

When I do that, it shows a list of recently opened files but not recently opened folders.

This is true; it doesn't open folders, just files. Have you tried the Media Browser? (Window>Media Browser) That will let you open folders, and files from within them.:

Also it will let you preview files before loading them (highlight the file, which will illuminate the 'play' button at the bottom)
