Record button not working

Is this on a Mac or a PC? Has it ever worked at all? And are you trying this in Multitrack or Waveform view? If the transport doesn't move at all, then the only possibility is that your sound device isn't connected properly. A screenshot of your Audio Hardware screen specifically would be useful.

Hi Harold! Let's see how we can help. When I start recording in Audition, a thin blue line appears around my record button as well, but I see waveforms appear on the screen.

The first thing we should check is to see if your microphone is selected. Let's go to the Audio Hardware settings and preferences.

On Mac: use the toolbar at the top to go to Adobe Audition > Settings > Audio Hardware

On a PC: use the toolbar at the top to go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware

Make sure there is a microphone selected next to "Default Input."

If your microphone is connected, please let us know if you see any error messages. Or share a screenshot of what you see.
