Recording Issue with Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Hey guys,

I work for a university's athletic department doing sports broadcasting, as during the games I will always record the audio using a Scarlett 2i2 USB to send audio from the mixer to my computer. Never had any issues with it on my laptop, but recently switched to using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4.

On two separate occasions when recording a game on the Surface, the recording, which is normally around 2-3 hours long per game, will render at only an hour and be sped up and a little scratchy. Bit rate and sample rate all the same as when I used my laptop.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Thanks for any help.

What type of USB port are you plugging into on the Surface? Some USB 2 devices (especially audio ones) sometimes don't like USB 3 sockets for some reason. Possibly USB chip incompatibility and/or insufficient power from the USB socket if the interface is powered directly.

Interesting. It is using a USB 2 cord in to a USB 3 socket, but it was the same case when connected to my laptop. I'm mainly trying to determine if this is a Surface issue with a driver, or some setting in Audition that I screwed up.

    Thanks for the quick reply,

If you still have it why not try back with the old laptop to check that it still works there and what settings you had in Audition?
