Question

recording live news conferences/broadcasts

First, I love adobe auditon CC 2018 which I use at work.

Now that I am at home (social distancing) I am unable to record live broadcasts or even You Tube audio.

On the Audio Hardware --under preferences--( I can only choose between Stereo Mix (Realtek Audio), microphone (Realtek Audio) or no input.

I need some help and thank you.

Yes, it's a pain trying to record anything that's streamed - that's exactly the way Micorosft and the RIAA want it to be. It's a pain mostly to set up (if your machine will even allow it - some refuse at all) and then you have to reconfigure it afterwards so that it will behave 'normally' again.

Fortunately there is a solution that I've been using for ages now, and it doesn't involve Audition. NCH Software make an app called SoundTap which can directly intercept anything being streamed directly to your speakers or headphones, and record it. It sets itself up, and will even let you add your computer's microphone into the stream if you choose. And it just works. I have no connection with NCH other than as a satisfied user, incidentally (just in case you were wondering...) Yes it costs a little bit, but not a lot, and it's well worth it.

Wow.
This works just as you said.
Thank you.
(I wish the adobe support could have suggested this)
