Question

Recording with Audition CC version 6

I can't get the recording light (red button) to come on when trying to create and record a basic audio file.    I am using Audition CC version 6 Build 732 (64 bit) and using an Samson C01U microphone via a desktop computer. I keep getting the error message "The sample rates of the audio input and output devices do not match etc. etc."  A copy of the error message is attached.  I have followed the instructions regarding  Preferences and Audio Hardware/Mapping several times, and the sample rates are identical. Any thoughts? Cheers.

Well, the message does actually tell you what to do... (second paragraph). I'm assuming that this is a Windows machine; what you do looks like this - what you have to do is select your Samson, which should be in the recording device list:

You need the settings here to match what's coming from the mic, and also you should use the same settings in Audition. In the case of the C01U, this needs to be 16-bit 48k, because that is all it does, according to the specification. In other words, the line below the one highlighted in the screengrab.

Well Steve, I moved the cursor down to 48000 as you suggested.

And Hey Presto, I can now record...!!

Thank you.    😉
