Question

Recover Audition session - help?

I regularly record my dnd sessions with friends. This time around I had a small mixup at the beginning, where the recording stopped for a moment and then continued, and another at the end, where audition wouldn't respond and had to be force-quit.

I recovered the session, as I'm used to, and saved it... or so I believed. My suspicion was aroused when I noted it appeared to save instantly, rather than taking the usual minute or two. Only after closing did I realise the mistake. Only the few seconds early in, before the recording was paused got saved. Can I still re-open and recover the full session?

I'm using build 12.1.2.3 on a Mac running High Sierra 10.13.6

Do you have Audition set to autosave? You might get something from one of the earlier autosaves. Check you Audition prefs for location.

It's set to save within the session folder, which... there seems to be a small cluster of files from every time I've panicked and tried opening the file, but none from before I saved this absurdly short clip thinking it was the whole thing.

I think I'm trying to find a temp file which departed the moment I closed thinking I'd saved, an hour and twenty minutes ago 😞

Is there another location for untitled files created by opening audition and hitting record without bothering to name / save the fresh file? I admit my workflow with this has been apalling.

Sorry, I don't really know what more to say. I don't know what Audition does with audio data that hasn't been saved.

Even if you did find an autosave, it would only be the session file, not the audio recording.
