I've found lots of discussion on how to slow the audio or a section of the audio in a file. But I don't want to slow the audio forever. I just want to slow it down enough so that I can see exactly where background sounds are occurring and be able to edit them out. Click/Pop editor is not getting them, But the file moves too quickly past the sound for me to pinpoint it. Can anybody help me? Thanks.
The easiest way to see clicks and pops is to use the Spectral Frequency Display. You don't even have to play the auduio to find the clicks and pops, they become immediately obvious to the eye.
Clicks are the lesser pink spikes whilst a pop is the bright pink spike going right down to the bottom of the display. To get rid of them you can use the Spot healing Brush tool. Selects a suitable size for the Brush at a zoom level which makes the clicks obvious. Then holding the Shift key down erase the click by moving the brush with the mouse vertically over the spike. Holding the Shift constrains the mouse cursor to only move in the vertical direction over the click/pop.
