Is there a way to completely remove vocals from a song?
The short answer is 'no'. Often you can do a pretty good job of it using effects like the center channel extractor, if the vocal is mono, but it only takes a little bit of stereo reverb to be present in the original to leave a ghostly version of it that's pretty much impossible to shift. And that's quite a normal thing to find...
