Question

Replace preview music with licensed version after remix

I've used the remix tool on a preview track from audio jungle. Now that it's been approved by client, I need to replace the preview file with the licensed file, but I want to keep the remix edit. Is there a way to simply copy/paste the properties of the preview file's remix onto the licensed file? I'm finding that I have to redo the remix, but it isn't matching what I had previously, and isn't as good. I also think this is a waste of time since I perfected the cue's timing already once before. Any solutions to this? Thanks!

I don't think you can, I'm afraid - well certainly not easily. Nothing about the original file gets altered - that's one of the features of non-linear editing, and consequently, as far as I'm aware the remix properties are stored in your session file. There may be a way of swapping the file reference by editing the session file, but you'd need Suitespot to tell you whether that was possible. Also, even if it was, you'd have to make sure that the file was as close to sample-accurate as a replacement, otherwise you'd end up with errors anyway.

Thanks for the response. I'd like to dig deeper, as these types of copy/paste attributes can be done in Premiere assuming the original specs match the ones in the sequence. So if the Licensed music file is the same as the preview, there should be a way to copy/paste the attributes I would think. I understand it doesn't affect the original media, but it's odd that I couldn't replicate an action within a multi-track...
