Rode NT1-A not showing up in Adobe Audition

So, as the title of this post says, I'm having a lot of difficulty getting Adobe Audition to even find my Rode NT1-A microphone as a means of recording audio. I'm an aspiring actor, with a specific interest in video games/animation etc. and right now, I'm looking to just start recording, doing impressions and getting comfortable with using my equipment and the software itself. 

I'm using a MacBook Air to run Audition, with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2i2 (3rd Gen) preamplifier and it's plugged into my MacBook via a USB adapter. I've made sure to allow my laptop to let Audition record audio, too. Can anyone potentially offer any help? I'm finding it very frustrating, as I've searched for resolutions to this problem and have been completely unsuccessful at every turn. Thank you in advance.

For a start, it's not quite clear about how you've connected the Scarlett - is this directly into the MacBook, or is your 'adaptor' a powered hub? If it is, then try running the Scarlett directly into the MacBook - powered hubs are notorious for causing strange issues with audio devices.

 

If you are running it in directly, using the ASIO drive class and it's all aggregated correctly, then how are you trying to record? Waveform view or Multitrack?

My apologies for the very late response, but thank you for getting back to me.

 

To clear up any confusion, my Scarlett is connected directly into my laptop. It came with 1 USB cable (Type C-A) and, of course, I’ve got one end plugged into the port on the back of the preamplifier and the other end directly plugged into one of the two ports on my MacBook. I needed the adapter, as the other end of the cable obviously wouldn’t have fitted into the port on my laptop. So to answer your first question, no, I’m not using it as a powered hub.

 

To answer your second question, I am attempting to record my audio in Waveform view, as opposed to Multitrack. Thanks again, in advance.

Hi,

 

did you choose the right Audio Interface in the Config Panel in the "Audio Device" Section? Are the ASIO Drivers or other Drivers installed and does it show in the Mac OS System Prefs panel? Can you record with this Mic in any other Program? Hope that helps.
