Sample rate issue in playback with Audition 2025, but not with CS4

Hi all!

I have Windows 11, Audition 2025, and a Roland Rubix 24. Unfortunately, audio playback is faulty when using the ASIO drivers due to problems. It seems to be the typical issue with the sample rate.

I also have an older version of Audition CS4 on the system. With the same hardware settings in both versions, the identical files play back without any problems en CS4.

Does Audition 2025 have a bug with ASIO under Windows 11? Is there anything I can do?

Meanwhile I deinstalled Audition 2025 and installed it again. Now at least the MME-drivers work again and it seams without problems with the sample rate of the files. But again: How is it posible, that CS4 doesn't have this issues with Asio?

Best regards!

Hans

I spent all night chatting with GPT about this; it's completely useless. But here's a summary that might help clarify the situation:

- When the hardware clock matches the file's sample rate (44.1 or 48 kHz), playback is audibly distorted (pitch instability, artifacts).

- When the hardware clock doesn't match the file's sample rate (i.e., Audition forces resampling), playback sounds clean.

- The distortion only occurs in the waveform editor.

- Multitrack playback with ASIO works perfectly.

- WASAPI Exclusive and MME work ok.

- Audition 2025 seems to be loading an ASIO fallback/wrapper host (fixed buffer size, no ASIO control panel, 864-sample buffer).

Thanks for your suggestions!

I have to ask you - have you downloaded and installed the Rubix 24 driver specifically for W11? There is one...

Hi Steve!

Yes, it's installed and working fine if I use the ASIO driver, as I can see in the Rubix Control Panel. But the sound is awful, with the tipical clicks if you play a 48khz file in a 44.1khz machine. There's something odd about Audition and the Roland ASIO driver.
Well, Audition now works fine with the MME-Driver and Rubix, which is acceptable to me. It's not exactly how it was designed, but it works.
If nowbody here never had a similar problem with Audition, Asio and Windows 11 it might be a problem of the Rubix Driver.
