Save appended tracks individually Audition CC2019

Greetings,

Hopefully, I'm just being thick and overlooking the obvious, but I can't find a way to save appended tracks individually. Here's a typical scenario, I deal with live concerts and there are instances where, say, I need to swap the channels for every track of a show. I open the first track, append the remaining tracks, so I have the entire show as one .wav. I swap the tracks and now want to save the appended tracks(that have had the channels swapped) back as individual tracks again. Seems simple enough. but I can't seem to figure it out. what am I missing?

I'm not quite clear - are we talking Multitrack here? If we are, then highlight the selection you want to isolate, and open the Export menu. Go to Export Multitrack Mixdown, and you will be presented with options in the bottom box. If you click on Change, then you get to choose exactly what it is you want to export - a mixdown, or individual tracks. This will certainly save the individual tracks, but it won't save them as a session as such, just a bunch of files.

 

If you are simply talking about Waveform view, then just highlight the section you want to save, use Copy to New, and save just that section from there.

 

There are other options too, especially in Multitrack. It's possible to highlight a time selection from a number of highlighted tracks and, if you have a second session open, paste just this selection into it - from where you can save it as a separate item.

 

I'm sure that at least one of these scenarios is going to work for you!

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for being unclear. I'm in waveform view. I have 22 tracks that all need the channels swapped (remember it's a live recording I'm dealing with). I open track 01, append tracks 02 thru 22 to track 01. Now I have one long wav file and I go ahead and swap the channels for the entire wav. Now I have that one long wav file that I want to save back in to the original 22 individual tracks. I don't want to save portions of the tracks, I want to save the entire 22 tracks as individual tracks. I can save it as one file, but then I have to go back in and replit the tracks ,which is not what I want to do, I want to save the individual 22 tracks. In multitrack view, I have to open all the tracks seperately and swap channels one by one and then save as you suggest, very cumbersome and time consuming. There's got to be a way that I'm overlooking, to my mind, this should be basic stuff 🙂

Ah, I see. Yes there's a really easy way to do this that doesn't involve any opening up of files at all!

 

First you need to open a single stereo file (doesn't matter what it is) and create a new Favorite. All you have to do is start recording it (bottom of Favorites menu) and select Effects>Amplitude and Compression>Channel Mixer and select the preset 'Swap Left and Right', apply it to your file, and click the cursor to deselect it. Now stop recording the Favorite, and give it a name (personally I'd call it Swap Left and Right, but hey, what do I know?). You can now undo this process on the file you opened, or just close it without saving it, and nothing will have changed.

 

Now you open up the Batch Process pane from the Window menu. In the pane it will give you a space to drop all your files, and there are plenty of options about how you save them - select what you want. Most importantly though, in the Favorite box, put your new one. Click Run, and have a cup of coffee - entire job will do itself!
