Save Selection As is reverting to whole file

I editing an hour of audio saving selections as individual files using Save Selection As from the editor window. The files all saved but when I tried to insert into the multitrack all files were named correctly, but contained the full recording session. 

I treid re-editing - double checkign - same problem.

 

Keeps happening!!! Fix? Thoughts? Help?

Tried the latest update but doesn't seem to fix it.

It works fine here, but I have to say that it's a very wasteful way of getting anything into Multitrack view!

 

You might want to read this thread - it's about one of the so-called 'tutorials' on YouTube where person posting it gets it spectacularly wrong, in a very similar manner to what you're suggesting that you are trying to do...

 

But if you highlight a selection in Waveform view (there is nothing uniquely called the 'editor window, as both views are editor views, as you will see if you look at the tabs) and use Save Selection As, it definitely only saves the selection you've made. If that's not working for you, then you need to outline exactly the steps you've taken so we can find out why.

    OK!! this is what I've been wondering about!! Can you direct me to further tutorials explaining file management in Adobe. I'm part way through a massive project and I am doing it WAY wrong. 

     

    I understand the non-distructive editing part, but could not figure out how to make 'regions' (ol'skool term? can't recall software - but a clip of a larger file... correct?)

     

    I think I need to find help with Clips, Markers and File Management if you can further direct me. (I will still keep looking too)
