Saving mp3 files

Question

I'm relatively new. I haven't been able to figure out how to start a new thread (the directions I found didn't help), so this seemed to be the likeliest thread to try.
 
I'm using Adobe CS4 with Windows 7 Pro. Currently I can't get Soundbooth save a file as an .mp3 any more. I've been doing this for years, but now, it doesn't work any more. It doesn't crash, it just sits there. 
 
Any thoughts on why it would suddenly not let me do a standard procedure? I haven't installed any new programs, and Microsoft stopped supporting W7P before my last successful project.
 
Any suggestions on how to proceed? Ive already uninstalled and reinstalled it with no improvement.

Starting a new thread is very easy - it just requires you to click on the 'Post to community' button at the top RH corner of the page:

But... if you really are talking about Soundbooth, then I'm afraid we can't help you. It's well and truly obsolete, and out of support many, many years ago. As is the operating system you're running it on. I never ran it on anything, so I can't even try it on a newer system (on which it probably wouldn't work anyway), and I very much doubt whether anybody else here will be able to help either. If reinstalling the software made no difference, then it doesn't sound like a software fault -more like something external. I don't know whether Soundbooth worked the same way that Audition does, but if it does by any chance, try starting it with the shift key held down. That will reset all the user preferences back to a vanilla state, and often solves all sorts of otherwise unexplained issues.

But that's it - beyond that, I have no idea.
