Scroll problems in editor

This is just something that has been happening lately and I have no idea how to fix it. 

1. When I start to select a portion of the file, I single click within the file and it will then immediately select the entire file. I will usually have to click several times to get it back to the selection and sometimes I will be able to select a small portion of the file and sometimes it will suddenly select the full file.

2. As I'm dragging over the file, sometimes it will immediately select a small portion of the area I was selecting instead of the entire area. If I drag the mouse when this happens, it will select a different part of the selected area and sometimes select an area in front of or behind the area I'm trying to get to.

I can still use Audition, but it is making things incredibly frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.
