selecting audio using start and end and duration in audition

I am working with Audition 2020.  New to me.  I am a novice. How can I play the audio in waveform, stop at the beginnng of the section that I want to start to select, then go to the end portion, get the counter time and enter the start and end time in the time ranges window at the bottom right of audition

Simplest method (I think!):

Hold down your left mouse button and drag the cursor from your start point to your end point, or vice versa.  This highlights the whole section, and the times will show in that window.
