Gday guys,

I have a female voice recording and need to add a (AI) artifical intelligence or robotic tone to it. Can anyone help to achieve this within Audition without external plugins?

Thanks,

Alex

You could also look at vocoder plugins. TAL-Vocoder is a free plugin you could try.

Yes, in Adobe Audition, you can add a robotic tone using Pitch Shifter with extreme settings and Flanger/Chorus effects. Combine with FFT Filter or Distortion for a more AI-like voice without external plugins.

This used to be a lot easier to do back in the days of Audition's predecessor, Cool Edit. There was a plugin available that would enable exactly this sort of thing to happen, but I don't think it's compatible with the present releases at all, despite being still available, and at least one advert saying that it will work with Audition if put in the root directory - not sure that I believe that though.*

I think that the reason that a lot of things like this were dropped - sometimes gradually but also sometimes pretty rapidly - was that they were not considered to be features that ought to be in 'professional' software at all; this is definitely why the 'Brainwave Synchroniser' was dropped, for instance.

*It runs in Audition 3, but I think that's the last version that will run it. It won't run in later versions because it's only 32-bit compatible.

I would probably play around with pitch correction - either automatic or manual
